The King County Youth Marijuana Prevention & Education Program (YMPEP; funded by the Washington State Department of Health) is currently working on a strategic plan to guide the next five years of activities. They are currently in the data-gathering stage and would welcome feedback from school-based health staff. The two potential activities impacting and involving schools are:
- Implementation of alternative to suspension programs for youth who violate the substance abuse policy
- Implementation of screening and referral systems for students
Ideas and feedback can be shared with Lindsey Greto (Project Manager, Cannabis Program at Public Health–Seattle & King County) at lindsey.greto@kingcounty.gov.
