VietQ is hosting Washington’s first Vietnamese LGBTQ conference on February 29, 2020 from 10am-4pm at Asian Counseling and Referral Services main offices. Titled “BAN – Means More Than Friends,” the conference is “for queer Vietnamese folks to share community, celebrate our lives, and engage in discussions as it relates to our intersecting identities.” Family members and LGBTQ-identified people of all ages welcome. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided for attendees. The day’s events will include:
- Workshops covering themes such as heritage, healing, language, art, history, and food.
- Community + movement building with other queer and trans Vietnamese folks from Washington and across the nation
- LGBTQ Vietnamese intergenerational panel
- Resource Fair
- Entertainment
