School Nurses: Supporting Students in Times of Crisis
This year, School Nurse Day is May 6, 2020. Celebrations and special communications are planned throughout the week, which ends on May 12, the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth. We honor more than 95,000 school nurses in the United States who make a difference in the lives of children every day! School nurses lead the way to advance health and support education by ensuring that students are safe, healthy & ready to learn.

This year’s theme is Supporting Students in Times of Crisis:
- This theme recognizes that school nurses play an integral role in the health of students, regardless of whether they’re in school or not.
- School nurses support students and student health every day of the year. But, on National School Nurse Day, we take special time to celebrate and recognize the contributions that school nurses are making to the health and learning of our nation’s 50 million children.
