The U.S. Department of Education is hosting a webinar series to address hot topics that are on the top of the educators’ minds. After sharing federal updates, the series features lessons learned and best practices from faculty, staff, schools, districts, institutions of higher education, early childhood education providers, and other places of educational instruction. It also shares a variety of useful resources.

Please join for valuable information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Department of Education on strategies to assist Afghan and other newcomer students to American schools. As part of the Operation Allies Welcome, these federal agencies recognize the immediate and urgent need to provide high-quality, culturally responsive approaches to support the social and emotional needs of Afghan students into their new learning environments. The information presented will also be relevant to other newcomer student populations. A panel discussion with practitioners from the field directly engaged with supporting newcomers will follow.
