The Wellness Center at Nova High School opened early in the COVID-19 pandemic and in spite of the many challenges this posed, they have built a center that is deeply integrated with the Nova community. Operated by Country Doctor Community Health Centers, the clinic space and services were design in tandem with student leaders and administrators at Nova.
Public Health’s School-Based Partnerships team had the recent opportunity to tour the Wellness Center for the first time since its opening, thanks to reduced restrictions on visitors in Seattle Public Schools. The Nova team (including Clinic Coordinator Michelle Mitchell, ARNP Aviva Rubin, Therapist Kat Felpo, Nova Assistant Principal Annie Parker, and Principal Eyva Winet) welcomed the Public Health team for a visit to their beautiful clinic.
We share our gratitude with the Nova and Country Doctor teams for allowing us to see it in person and learn more about the incredible work going on there!
