King County Leadership Visits Rainier Beach High School

On March 29, 2023 the Rainier Beach High School School-Based Health Center (SBHC) hosted Anita Whitfield, King County’s Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer to learn more about the critical services they provide. They were joined by leadership from Public Health–Seattle & King County (PHSKC) and Rainier Beach High School.

SBHC Manager, Kerren Buchanan said of the visit, “We engaged in raw and rich dialogue about the impacts of the great work executed by the health center team. Not only were we fortunate to commune with the SBHC team and school official Renee Willette (Assistant Principal); we were joined by the most charismatic inspirational 10th grader I’ve ever met, who unapologetically was able to eloquently articulate how the services offered have been life changing. This experience was one of the highlights of my year! I am reminded why we all do the work.”
