Recruiting “Athletes As Leaders!” Participants

The Harborview Center for Sexual Assault and Traumatic Stress (HCSATS) created a free program for girls’ athletic teams at Garfield High School in Seattle and wants to bring it to other communities!

Formerly known as Student Leaders and Athletic Youth (SLAY), “Athletes As Leaders!”  aims to empower female-identified youth to take an active role in promoting healthy relationships and ending sexual violence. More information is available at   www.AthletesAsLeaders.org.

HCSATS is looking for high school teams who are interested in implementing the program in Fall and Winter 2017.  Read more about this pilot opportunity here. If you know anyone connected to high school sports who may be interested, help spread the word and connect them to HCSATS.

Furthermore, for staff and sites interested in receiving free copies of HCSATS’ booklet, “A Safer Family, A Safer World,” contact HCSATS.
