AMARA Community Workshop
Description
Angela Tucker, trans-racial adoptee and Amara’s Director of Post-Adoption Services, expands on Amara’s Partnering for Permanency class with this interactive and informational workshop.
The workshop includes facilitated discussions with parents and caregivers about privilege, implicit bias, micro-aggression and an adult adoptee panel. Teaching modalities will include a mix of lecture, video, open dialogue and structured activities. Participants will engage in activities designed to assist in becoming more comfortable talking to others about race and culture, particularly within the framework of trans-racial adoption.
**Amara families who are currently becoming licensed must have taken Partners For Permanency class prior to attending this workshop. Register here.
Please let us know if the fees are a hardship, as we are committed to including anyone who is interested in attending and participating. If you need any accommodations, email us directly at postadopt@amaraputskidsfirst.org
