Lowell Elementary School’s school-based health center (SBHC) opened during the pandemic with funding from the City of Seattle’s 2018 Families, Education, Preschool, and Promise Levy. Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic (OBCC) was awarded the funds as the sponsor agency for this clinic in Summer 2020. With visitor restrictions lifting in Seattle Public Schools, the Public Health School-Based Partnerships Team was finally able to tour the clinic in September of 2022.
We are grateful to the entire OBCC school-based team at Lowell (Mental Health Provider, Tania; Medical Provider, Esther; Clinical Care Coordinator, Alex; Medical Director, Terri; Mental Health Supervisor, Laura; and Program Manager, Nisreen) for hosting us. Principal Chelsea even joined us to share her gratitude for the great work they are doing at Lowell. We share in that gratitude!
